I went to elementary school at... Abraham Lincoln Elementary School
I went to college at... Saint Mary's University of Minnesota
My favorite Saint is... Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton
The one thing I want St. Stan's students to know about me is... I have played (and still play) ice hockey since I was 7. I played for Loyola University, and I was drafted to play for the Canadian women's pro team (many years ago).
Why Catholic education? Daily exposure to the Catholic faith is important in developing a strong religious and educational foundation. Daily lessons in the Catholic faith create a strong foundation for children. It teaches our students not only to develop a devotion to Jesus, but also it teaches them how to develop faith in themselves.
Why St. Stan's? I love that St. Stan's is a small close knit community. The families and staff are warm and welcoming. The word family comes to mind over class. Each class that I have had the privilege of teaching has always felt like they are a family, always looking out for one another and including each other.
My teaching style is... My philosophy of education is that all children are unique and must have a stimulating, hands on, and when appropriate, play based educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. I strive to create this type of atmosphere where students can meet their full potential by providing a safe environment where students are invited to share their ideas, be the truest version of themselves, and take risks.
